India’s Air Force Takes Down Six Pakistani Jets
The Indian Air Force has officially confirmed for the first time that it shot down six Pakistani military aircraft during Operation Sindoor, which was launched in May in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam.
Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh revealed at a lecture in Bengaluru that the Indian S-400 air defense system played a crucial role in this unprecedented success.
“We have at least five fighters confirmed kills and one large aircraft… taken down at a distance of 300 kilometers. This is the largest ever recorded surface-to-air kill,” he said.
The operation also damaged key Pakistani military infrastructure:
- F-16 hangar at Shahbaz Jacobabad (half destroyed)
- Two major command & control centers (Murid & Chaklala)
- Six radar installations
Pakistan has rejected India’s claims, but tensions remain high with ceasefire talks following three days of hostilities.
